3-A Verifizierung durch "Dritte"
(Neue Vorgehensweise bei Vergabe des 3-A Zertifikats)
Why "Third Party Verification (TPV)" ?
Food safety and security have never been more important throughout the entire food product delivery system and neither have the 3-A Sanitary Standards and the 3-A Symbol. The 3-A Symbol conveys the integrity of the 3-A Standards to which equipment manufacturers build their products.
The intension is to move the 3-A Symbol authorization process from self-certification to third party verification. All of this has been done to make food safety credibility and integrity synonymous with the 3-A Symbol in the eyes of equipment manufacturers, end users, sanitarians, USDA, FDA and others involved with the safety of the nations food supply.
What is A Certified Conformance Evaluator?
A Certified Conformance Evaluator (CCE) is an individual certified by 3-A SSI to conduct independent verification that equipment or systems showing the 3-A Symbol conform to 3-A standards for sanitary equipment design, fabrication and construction materials. The verification is required for equipment manufacturers or used equipment resellers to obtain or renew a 3-A Symbol.
How should a company prepare for the TPV?
The shouldy prepare for the following:
- Manufacturing plant site visit by the CCE.
- Examination of equipment and associated drawings to establish conformance to the 3-A Standard covering the equipment.
- Confirmation of the companys quality control program to ensure continuous conformance.
- Examination of an up-to-date Engineering Design and Technical Construction File (EDTCF).
- Documentation from manufacturer to demonstrate conformance of all materials of construction appropriate for meeting the standard.
- Method of 3-A Symbol display and attachment to the equipment.
- The base 3-A Standard and other standards referenced in the document.
- Conformance to other regulations cited in the standard.
- List of plant manufacturing sites.
To help minimize the time and expense of the TPV, you should:
- Have the above materials completed, organized and ready for examination.
- Have a knowledgeable person available to assist with the review. Have the equipment easily accessible and dismantled to facilitate examination.
- Have drawings in the same place as the equipment. Assist with their review.
- Supply disassembly tools, gauging tools, profilometer, and boroscope (if necessary).
- Ask the CCE before arrival what he/she expects to be needed to conduct the TPV.
- Have the equipment operation manual available (if one is normally provided
with the equipment).
